Uptown Bones

Uptown Bones were one of my favorite Philly bands of the late 80’s early 90’s. They seemed to be heavily influences by the Love Muffin but added in some psychedelic and noise elements to it. The band was Rich (Ashtabula, Latimer) vocals & Guitar, Andy Clees on Guitar and Noel on drums. The original bass player, Scooter Anderson (Thanks Eric & Art) was later replaced by Art (Photon Band, Tons of Nuns, Lilys, etc.) Collected below are 2 demo tapes (I don’t have the track names for the 2nd one) the first 7″, the split 7″ with Les Thugs and then the 2 cd’s that came out on the French |

Black & Noir Records. As an added bonus there are a couple of videos Rich told me about and some Flyers at the very bottom. I’m hoping to get up a tape of them playing on WKDU but I have to work it out to get permission to put it up. |

I cannot say that I ever remember hearing the Uptown Bones but damn I know where the DMZ is. I am fairly sure that my wife was at that show. She went to college with the guys with Third Leg, one of the bands on the flyer for the show. I say with some certainty that if she was there she was drunk and having a good time. Thanks for making me smile like God’s own idiot when I saw the start of the video.
