We know George (Cool G, DJ G-Force) Lind had a heart of GOLD!, tightly wrapped in an irascible obstinate punk-rock beer-berserker and leather-jacketed exterior: a lotta folks listen to rock ‘n’ roll: George fuckin lived it, full on, daily, and without giving a fuck. After moving back to South Jersey in the late 1990’s, George had a long-running and kick-ass radio show on WLFR called “Radios Appear”. During his time in Philly in the 80s and 90s, George recorded radio shows broadcast by WXPN and WKDU: his own and other DJs, folks we know. yo rest in power G, up in that big Fathouse in the sky!

Than a show split into 9 parts with an interview with the Sic Kidz while they were on tour in California. The entire recording was labeled Lee Paris bit he seems to sign off kind of early on but I just kept t he rest of the music which was probably music XPN used to fill up dead air. Thanks to Flipo from the Excuses for the audio.

Eddie Hacksaw was a pioneering DJ at WXPN in the early days of the Philadelphia scene. Personally I never got to meet him but I’ve always heard he was a great DJ that did a lot to promote the local scene. Tragically he died in a car accident August 1986.
This is a recording of one of his shows from December 1982 (Thanks for the files Frank Blank)
While there is not much on the internet about Eddie I did find this film he made:
Bored (1984) by Eddie “Hacksaw” Richard
“Bored” is a film school project by the late Eddie Richard (1963-1986). He was the dj “Hacksaw” of WXPN-FM’s “Night of Reckoning” show.
